Last weekend saw a bit of a milestone for Calder's Kitchen as we attended our 'furthest from home' Food Festival since we first started out. The simply stunning Clumber Park National Trust park in Nottinghamshire was the venue for The 2021 Festival of Food & Drink, but it was a bit of a home from home with so many familiar faces from our native North East also making the journey to the Midlands.
We weren't sure what to expect having never traded in this part of the country before so our Piccalilli and Chutney range was all new to the public, but we needn't have worried. The sun shone (on Saturday anyway) and this turned out to be the busiest foodie event we've taken part in since the pandemic.
We met some lovely new customers, our new Balti Box of Indian-friendly pickles was a massive spicy hit and we want to say a huge thanks to everyone who visited our stall, bought something from us over the weekend. A special shout out to one customer, Kevin Hayes who told us about the pizza he was planning to make later that night using our Spicy Tomato Chutney as the base sauce, did just that and tagged us in a picture of his creation on Instagram! Very well executed, Kevin!
