Description

Spicy Condiment Gift Box containing our three spicy flavours:

Amazing with meats, cheeses, grilled sandwiches, burgers and curries. All three also make the ideal alternative poppadom dipping tray!

Spicy Tomato Chutney

Inspired by Grandad Charlie's passion for growing his own tomatoes throughout his life, our Spicy Scotch Bonnet Tomato Chutney is the perfect condiment for meats and cheeses, and will help create the ultimate Ploughman's lunch or sandwich.

Fantastic as a relish for the BBQ, as a dipping sauce, or spooned over a bowl of nachos, poppadoms or tortilla chips!

Great Taste 2-Star Award winner 2023.

Sillylilli

Sillylilli is a unique product to Calder’s Kitchen. Based on Grandad Charlie's traditional recipe and packed full of crunchy vegetables, Sillylilli has been described by some as Piccalilli with attitude! That said, there is a very good balance between heat and flavour, meaning you can enjoy the taste of an outrageously good pickle while getting your chilli fix. Contains Scotch bonnet, habanero and a hot Madras curry base. One for the curry and spice lovers!

Use Calder’s Kitchen Sillylilli to revolutionise your grilled cheese sandwich and we guarantee you’ll never look back! Or enhance your poppadom pickle tray by serving alongside mango chutney and lime pickle. Like its milder cousin, Sillylilli will pimp up a burger, make a very acceptable omelette filler, or can be smothered over chips or potato wedges as a late-night snack.

Great Taste Award 2022. Farm Shop & Deli Silver Product Award winner 2023.

Fiery Beetroot & Habanero Chutney

Delicious fresh beetroot chutney with a fiery habanero kick, inspired by Grandad's passion for growing his own beets and favourite recipes. Pairs perfectly with a cheese or corned beef sandwich, a slice of cheese on toast, or any type of burger. An ideal addition to the BBQ or cheese and wine gathering this summer!

In their own words

Don't just take our word for it

Real people, real jars. Here's what they had to say.

“Buy this, it's amazing!”

“The nicest Piccalilli I've tasted in my existence.”

“The best Piccalilli I've ever had.”

“The best I've ever tasted.”

“I've never liked Piccalilli until today.”

“The best Piccalilli ever.”

“Gave it to my son, and he said it's the best piccalilli he's ever tasted.”

It started in Grandad Charlie's kitchen

Calder's began in the 1950s, when Grandad Charlie started making pickles in his kitchen for family and neighbours, a milkman from South Shields with a serious knack for flavour.

We still follow the same spirit today: bold flavours, small batches and proper ingredients. Every jar is made in his memory, just as he made it.
